The Christian New Year: “Prepared to See”
By: (All)
Series: The Christian New Year
Scripture: Mark 13:32-37, Romans 13:11-14
Guest Preacher: Dr. Mike Pearson
Advent begins by looking, not at Jesus' first arrival, but at his final arrival. The purpose of this is not to create anxiety in us, but to fill us with hope and to spur us toward following Jesus in all things. Something happens in our hearts when we live watchfully, with Jesus' final arrival in mind: our hearts are pulled toward Jesus and away from the things that compete with Jesus for our hearts.

It's not the size of our offering for Christ that counts, it's our willingness to make that offering. After all, the God who spoke into being the universe is more than capable of multiplying even the smallest of our gifts for his great glory!
