Freedom In Christ: “All I Have Is Christ”
By: Clint McBroom
Series: Freedom In Christ
Galatians 6:11-18
Paul makes his final appeal to trust in Christ rather than any achievement or status. Real Christianity is a matter of inward change, not external observance, and the gospel is offensive because the cross stands against all schemes of self-salvation.
A sign that we are truly trusting in Christ is whether or not we are boasting in Jesus. The heart of what we trust in and what we worship is shown in what we boast about. Asking ourselves "what do I boast about?" is a way of monitoring what or who we're really trusting in.

Oct 16, 2022Freedom In Christ “Sowing Well”By: Clint McBroomSeries: Freedom In ChristGalatians 6:7-10The principle of reaping and sowing is true in our spiritual lives just as much as it is true in farming. While living a life characterized by seeking God with all of our heart does not mean that painful circumstances will not happen to us, we can know that if we live by the Spirit, we enjoy the approval and assurance and fulfillment and joy of the Christian life now, and know that it will continue beyond death.

Oct 9, 2022Freedom in Christ “Gospel Encouragement”By: Clint McBroomSeries: Freedom In ChristGalatians 6:1-5When we are freed from the heart condition of "being conceited" (5:26), to seek our own glory in relationship, we are freed to gently encourage one another in our walk with Christ and in our ongoing struggle against temptation. This kind of encouragement and support is what "fulfilling the law of Christ" (6:2) looks like, because Jesus is the ultimate and unsurpassable example of this kind of love.

Galatians 5:26
Galatians 6 makes applications for chapter 5’s conclusion that believers are to live by the Spirit. Paul gives specific instructions about what this looks like regarding a believer’s relationships with other people. Our identity should not come from what others are doing or what others think of us but from who we are in Christ. When our identity comes from Christ and his gospel, we will never feel superior or inferior to others. This frees us to be both humble and bold in how we love and serve everyone. - Sep 18, 2022Freedom In Christ: “Freedom to Love”

On the other hand, we're empowered to please God by loving, which is what God created us for.

The good news of Jesus Christ is especially for the barren, for those who see themselves as failures, because they are those whom God reaches out to first.

Sep 4, 2022Freedom in Christ “Blessed Assurance”By: Clint McBroomSeries: Freedom In ChristRomans 8:14-16 and Galatians 4:1-7The culmination of the gospel is that we become children of God and so have a new life of intimate relationship with our Heavenly Father. Not only did Jesus remove the curse of sin that we deserved, He also gave us the blessing that He deserved. Our new status removes the fear of missing fulfillment or losing approval that is at the root of much of our disobedience.

And in Jesus, God has made us his adopted children, and God's Spirit changes us so that obeying His law is what we desire to do.

Aug 14, 2022Freedom in Christ; Living In Line With The GospelBy: Clint McBroomSeries: Freedom In ChristGalatians 2:11-21In the account of Paul's confrontation with Peter, we see one instance of what it looks like to not live as if the gospel is true. One of the healthiest things that Jesus followers can do is to identify and expose ways in which we may confess the gospel with our words but deny it through our actions. Living in ways that align with the truth of Jesus' life, death, and resurrection is a powerful way of proclaiming that the gospel is true. .
