In Isaiah 61, the prophesized Suffering Servant speaks to his people Israel, and says that he has been anointed by God to heal, and set people free from oppression, and to proclaim the good news of God’s rule; in other words, he says that he will bring everything that was supposed to come in the OT year of Jubilee. Jesus quotes these verses as he began his ministry, and he actually fulfilled it in his ministry, death, and resurrection.
